             Myokinesthetic System (MYK) Neurological Treatment

Picture
What is MYK?

Myo = Muscle
Kinesthetic = Movement

MYK is a neurologically based, active therapeutic technique that balances posture by addressing the central nervous system's role in alleviating tension and restrictions within the body.
Essentially,
MYK is a soft-tissue treatment designed to re-train the nervous system, working in conjunction with your muscular system.
MYK, balances your posture and restores your central nervous system to the way it should be. It’s used to treat pain, numbness and tingling, issues with range of motion and repetitive injury strain. This is a targeted treatment, meaning it stimulates only those muscles affected by the nerve root that’s causing the problem.

How MyoKinesthetics Can Help You
Treatment is quick, taking anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes.  Perhaps the best benefit of this treatment is that it directly treats the root of your problem by addressing muscle imbalance and nerve dysfunction. This leads to long-term, positive results. Not only does MYK alleviate your pain, it can also restore movement, mobility, function, balance and posture.

With MYK, you get real results. So, if you’ve already tried massage therapy, physical therapy, chiropractic or acupuncture without resolve, it’s time to try MYK.

How it Works

First, postural imbalances must be identified to determine the core issue that is causing your pain. This is achieved by performing a complete postural examination and through the use of a variety of techniques. I will stimulate each muscle present along that specific nerve pathway. This will tell the brain to produce modifications in response, with the end result being better balance, greater range of motion and decreased pain.

       Who should try MYK?
  • If you have pain, numbness, limited range of motion or posture that is not aligned
  • If you have been getting other treatments but have seen little improvement
  • If you have a condition that limits your enjoyment of life
      How Long will it take?
  • Most people notice the benefits within 1-4 sessions
       How is MYK different?
  • You remain clothed
  • No oils or lotions used
  • 10-25 minute sessions
  • Addresses specific complaints

Many people choose regular massage therapy or other bodywork to achieve a reduction in pain; however, MYK is a simpler way to achieve your end goal. Unlike a massage, you can leave your clothes on and there are no oils or lotions used.

  • Working on specific muscles, while I move you and then you move through range of motion
  • Working on both sides of the body even if the symptoms are only on one side.

"By balancing the posture, we balance the nervous system. When the nervous system is balanced, the body begins to work the way it's supposed to work with range of motion increasing and pain decreasing"
